SB/SE FOCUS GUIDE – BUILDING OUR FUTURE TOGETHER

A message from the SB/SE commissioners:

We begin fiscal year 2022, as we did the previous year, by making the safety and well-being of our SB/SE family and the American taxpayer our top priority. This remains evident in the precautions we continue to take to mitigate the health risks brought on by the pandemic. Despite these challenges, our path forward remains brightly lit by our core mission and guiding principles, which will continue to serve us well as we refocus on our goals for the coming year.

This year, we asked for the SB/SE employees’ input in determining the theme of the Focus Guide, which will headline our efforts throughout the year ahead. We received 342 ideas and after much deliberation we decided to combine two of the top three submissions which best captures our direction for FY 2022, Building Our Future Together.

We can now look through the lens of this theme to see this guide with fresh eyes – while also recognizing our commitment to the IRS mission and strategic plan. Combined, these will reveal new opportunities to move forward in exciting ways that will continue to bring out the very best in everything we do in SB/SE.

OUR CORE MISSION

Promote voluntary compliance by focusing on renewed presence, ensuring public transparency, taking enforcement action every time it’s appropriate, and informing and empowering taxpayers.
