2023 BOARD OF DIRECTORS POSITIONS OPEN! 

Applications for the NSTP Board of Directors will be accepted effective immediately through April 22, 2022.

The election will be by electronic vote from May 15, 2022 – June 19, 2022. Results shall be announced at Annual Meeting scheduled for June 22, 2022 in Williamsburg, VA.

Director’s terms will run from January 2023 through December 2025.

NSTP members considering their candidacy for the Board of Directors should be aware of the time commitment, which includes:

1. Dedicated time and effort toward the direction and vision of NSTP as requested
2. Attendance at monthly/quarterly virtual Board meetings and at least one in-person meeting at a central location chosen by the Board
3. Active involvement with one of the NSTP committees, acting as liaison with the committee and the Board

Candidates for the NSTP Board acknowledge that:

1. They agree to abide by all Bylaws and Policies & Procedures established by the Board
2. They are compliant with their tax filing obligations
3. They agree to sign an acknowledgement of confidentiality
4. They agree to a background check
5. They agree to be interviewed by The Nominating Committee

Candidates for the NSTP Board should possess the following qualifications:

1. Experience in the tax industry as a practitioner, educator, or employee for a minimum of 3 years
2. Have taken a minimum of 8 hours of NSTP education for a minimum of two consecutive years
3. Be an NSTP member in good standing for a minimum of two consecutive years
4. Attest that they are current in the education requirements for their professional designation.

The Nominating Committee will also be considering the following characteristics for a member of the NSTP Board:

1. Ethics and integrity
2. Communication skills
3. Critical thinking skills and positive questioning
4. Humility and objectivity
5. Passion and dedication
6. Time and effort
7. Team player

 Members of the Board are compensated for travel time for in-person Board meeting attendance.
