CPE: IRS 1 Federal Tax Update/ CTEC 1 Federal Tax Update/ NASBA 1 Taxes
This course provides participants with an up to the minute synopsis of the challenges faced by the tax return preparing community during the period from January to April 18, 2022. It will discuss IRS processing issues and the handling of taxpayer issues. The session will review the tax preparer’s handling of preparing returns as a result of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 which includes the reconciliation of the 3rd round of advanced recovery rebate credits, advanced §24 Child Tax Credits, advanced §36B Premium Tax Credits as well as the Form 2441, §32 Dependent Care Credit Refundability issues.

At the conclusion of this course, the participants will have a better understanding of the challenges encountered nationwide by the Tax Return preparer community, taxpayers and the IRS. In addition, participants will be better equipped to prepare returns that were extended and the possible areas where an amendment may be possible or required, as well as how to proceed with IRS correspondence.
