Some of my leadership skills can be summed up through the NSTP Howard Longley Award presented to me in 2011 and holds true to date. It was awarded by the Board of Directors for “…exemplifying service to the organization, consistently displaying the characteristics of leadership, vision and dedication to the members of NSTP, and setting an example of ethical conduct and professionalism…”. I believe I listen intuitively, apply facts and circumstances well, and have a keen eye for financial attributes contained within corporate financial statements.
BRIEFLY DESCRIBE YOUR RELATIONSHIPS AND ASSOCIATIONS WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS.
In order to dedicate time to the NSTP Board of Directors, I scaled down my volunteering elsewhere and I’m not currently a governing member of other organizations. I formally was an officer and Commodore of my boating and social club, an officer, Treasurer and Board member for a local 501(c)(3) venue, and an active member of the local Rotary International. I believe volunteering my time, energy, and knowledge through organizations which stand for a good cause is a rewarding way to give back to communities and the tax profession.
LIST OTHER RELEVANT EXPERIENCE.
I often think out of the box. Sometimes they are invigorating ideas that are either pursued or spur a more in-depth conversation to find resolves as needed by the organization.

To best respond to this question, I’ll share a few thoughts that have been shared with me from an NSTP member of over 35 years regarding my historical leadership on the NSTP Board of Directors.
*Since your election to the NSTP Board, your Treasurer position in 2012, and for years as President of the Board of Directors, your oversight and insight into the NSTP monthly financials has greatly benefitted the organization, Board and membership.
*You have been unselfish with your time by consistently putting NSTP ahead of your personal life and client work and have led with integrity.
*You regularly monitor what needs to be addressed by the Board, not only currently, but prospectively into the future.
*You have pursued the NSTP Presidency when the need arose and no one else either had the ability, time or dedication for the position and responsibilities.
*You consistently ensure the Board follows policy and lead without political viewpoints.
*You are always willing to do whatever it takes for the success of NSTP as an organization and have the mentality that NSTP members always come first.
BIOGRAPHY
Keith E. Huebel, CPA joined NSTP July 1992 and was elected to NSTP’s Board of Directors commencing January 2010. Keith served as NSTP’s Treasurer from 2012-2015 and again in 2024, and Vice President from 2014 - 2015. In 2016, Keith was unanimously elected by the Board to serve as President of the Board of Directors. Earning the trust and confidence of the NSTP Board of Directors, Keith was re-elected as President of the Board in 2018, 2020, 2022, 2025 and 2026-2027. He is the longest standing NSTP President since its inception in 1985. This can be attributed to Keith’s dedication to NSTP as a leader, and his high level of integrity, vision, and professionalism. For similar attributes, in 2002, NSTP presented Keith with the “Service Award” in recognition of his dedicated service to NSTP and the tax profession. In 2011, he was presented with NSTP’s highest award, the Howard Longley Award for embodying the characteristics of leadership, vision, and dedication to the members of NSTP, and setting an example of ethical conduct and professionalism to be modeled by all. In 2024, the then current President of the Board awarded Keith with the NSTP President’s Award in recognition of years of support, dedication and loyalty to NSTP and support to the then current President of NSTP.
Keith has filled a role as NSTP’s Board parliamentarian while President, ensuring all organizational bylaws, policies and procedures, Robert’s Rules and Washington State’s nonprofit organizations’ rules and regulations were followed by the Board.
Since 2000, Keith has represented NSTP and its members monthly at IRS headquarters in Washington, DC for the National Public Liaison meetings and earned the title of Director of Government Relations in 2010 when he joined the Board of Directors. For decades, Keith has also represented and promoted NSTP at the National IRS Tax Forums.
Keith is a Cum Laude graduate from the University of Baltimore, a Certified Public Accountant and managing member of Huebel & Associates CPAs, LLC in Maryland. Business clients range from small to medium-sized non-profits, professional offices, contractors, retailers & manufacturers, to name a few. Clients also range from simple to complex high-net-worth individuals
Keith’s vision for NSTP is very optimistic but will be challenging in today’s society and professional tax climate. He is up to the challenge and wishes to continue his work and projects that are in process. He would be honored to serve NSTP and its members for the next three-year term (2027-2029) on the Board of Directors and respectfully requests your vote for Keith Huebel, CPA.
