This course introduces the Tax Professional to §7803(c) of the Internal Revenue Code and the Congressionally mandated position of the Office of The Taxpayer Advocate and the June 2024 Mid-Year Report to the House Ways and Means Committee and the Senate Finance Committee.

The Objectives Report to Congress contains the Objectives of the Office of the Taxpayer Advocate for the fiscal year beginning in the calendar year. This report will cover the goals of the Taxpayer Advocate for the period October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025. The report is to provide full and authoritative analysis in addition to statistical information and is due no later than June 30 of each calendar year. The report covers the following items:

  • Preface of the National Taxpayer Advocates’ Introductory Remarks,
  • Review of the 2024 filing season,
  • Systemic Advocacy Objectives,
  • Case Advocacy and other Business Objectives, and
  • Research Objectives.
  • These Objectives will be discussed as to the impact they have on our practices and how we will be able to better serve our clients

At the conclusion of the session, participants will have been introduced to the goals set by the National Taxpayer Advocate’s Office which will provide better protection of taxpayers rights and easier means of being able to be in compliance with the Internal Revenue Code as well as following the administrative rules set by the IRS.

Tax Professionals will be made aware of the Objectives set by the Advocate on issues pertaining to Systemic Advocacy, Case Advocacy and Businesses, and the Research being performed by the Office of the Taxpayer Advocate.
